Compare Free and Pro

Quick answer

QuickCV's Pro gates fall into three different shapes, and it matters which one you're looking at. Some features give Free accounts zero access at all — there is nothing to try before you upgrade. Others let Free accounts use the feature but block one specific action inside it. A third group gives Free accounts a small numeric allowance — you can use the feature, just not repeatedly. Pro-exclusive features (zero Free access)

These don't open at all for a Free account — there's nothing to preview before you upgrade:

• Job matches. The Job Matches dashboard fetches zero match data for Free accounts and shows an upgrade prompt in its place. Find and manage job matches covers what unlocks with Pro.
• Career Agent and Agent Inbox. Career Agent's overnight searches and the Agent Inbox review queue are both skipped outright for Free accounts — there's no partial setup to reach. Set up Career Agent and Review application kits in Agent Inbox cover both once you're on Pro. Application kits are produced by Career Agent, so they inherit the same gate.
• Resume sharing. Recruiter links, social sharing, and QR codes are all behind one gate: selecting Share on a resume shows an upgrade prompt instead of opening the Share modal for Free accounts — none of its three tabs are reachable. Pro-gated actions inside an otherwise open feature

You can explore these on Free, but the action that actually matters is blocked until you upgrade:

• Personal websites. Any signed-in account can open the website builder, pick a resume and template, and preview the result. Free accounts hit the gate only when they try to save: selecting Create Website opens an upgrade prompt instead of saving a draft, and publishing an existing site is gated the same way. • PDF export. Exporting a resume to PDF requires Pro every time, enforced on the server. Word (DOCX), QuickCV JSON, and JSON Resume exports are all free with no plan gate — Word shows a brief upgrade nudge after the download finishes, but the download itself isn't blocked. Free plan limits (partial access, not zero)

These features work on Free, capped at a specific number:

• Resumes: 1 editable resume. QuickCV shows this at the limit: "You've reached the limit of 1 free resume. Upgrade to Pro to tailor resumes for every job, export PDFs, unlock AI fixes, find job matches, publish a resume website, and share tracked links."
• Cover letters: 1 cover letter, the same one-item pattern as resumes. Create and organize cover letters covers the library.
• Resume Checker: 1 detailed audit ever per account, plus 1 score-only recheck per day. Pro raises this to 10 full analyses per day. Check your resume and understand the ATS report and Use Pro resume-checker tools cover both tiers.

An undocumented limit sits underneath the checker's account-level caps: no more than 4 free checks per day are allowed from the same network address, regardless of how much quota is left on your own account. On shared, office, or campus wifi you can see "This network has reached its free checker limit. Upgrade to Pro for continued access." even though your account itself still has checks remaining — that message means the network cap was hit, not your account's.

Beyond the exclusive and limit-removing gates above, Pro adds premium templates, full checker findings and AI-generated rewrites, AI resume review and writing assistance, and job-specific resume tailoring.
