Build a personal website from your resume

Before you start

Sign in to QuickCV and have a saved resume ready — the website is generated from an existing resume's content. If you don't have one yet, create your first resume.

Any signed-in account can open the website builder and preview a resume as a website. QuickCV Pro is required to go further: selecting Create Website or Update Website on a Free account opens an upgrade prompt instead of saving the site, and the same gate blocks Publish Website on any site you already have. Compare Free and Pro plans if you're not sure which one you're on.

Build the website

1. Open Websites from the dashboard navigation, then select Create Your First Website (or Create Website) — or start directly from a resume with Create portfolio from this resume on a resume card, or Create Portfolio inside the resume editor.
2. Under Select Resume, choose the resume this website is built from.
3. Under Choose Template, pick a design.
4. Under Website Settings, enter a Website URL — lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only, at least 3 characters.
5. Select Create Website (or Update Website if you're editing an existing site).

The URL becomes part of your public page at /cv/<slug> once the site is published — keep it free of private information. If the URL is already taken, correct it; QuickCV checks availability when you save.

Preview every layout

Use the desktop, tablet, and mobile preview controls above the live pane to check headings, contact details, section order, links, and spacing before you save. Preview does not create or publish the website — it only updates what's shown in the pane.

Expected result

On a Pro account, selecting Create Website saves a draft: the status chip reads Draft until you publish it from Publish and manage your personal website, and the public page isn't reachable until then. On a Free account, the same action opens an upgrade prompt instead — nothing is saved.

If the resume or template becomes unavailable, return to an existing source and choose again. If preview or saving keeps failing, keep the website as a draft and follow Fix personal website publishing problems.
