Lead with your strongest service metrics: guest satisfaction scores, TripAdvisor or Yelp ratings influenced, repeat guest percentages, or Net Promoter Scores.
Quantify your operational impact with specifics. Instead of "Managed hotel front desk," write "Supervised a 12-member front desk team across three shifts at a 320-room full-service hotel, maintaining a 94% guest satisfaction score and reducing average check-in time from 8 minutes to 3.5 minutes through process optimization." For food and beverage roles, cite covers per service, food cost percentages achieved, revenue per available seat hour (RevPASH), or catering event sizes. Revenue management experience, including dynamic pricing, upselling strategies, and ancillary revenue programs, is highly valued for management positions.
Certifications and training signal professionalism in hospitality. Include ServSafe, TIPS, CPR/First Aid, sommelier certifications, or hospitality management degrees. If you have experience with property management systems (Opera, Fosse, Lightspeed), point-of-sale systems, or revenue management platforms (IDeaS, Duetto), list them explicitly. For senior roles, describe your experience opening new properties, managing renovations while maintaining occupancy, leading teams through seasonal ramp-ups, and developing training programs that reduced turnover.
