Import an existing resume

Bring a PDF, LinkedIn export, or supported JSON resume into QuickCV.

Before you start

QuickCV accepts an existing PDF, a LinkedIn export ZIP, a QuickCV JSON backup, or JSON Resume data. PDF and LinkedIn imports require Pro. Keep the original file until you have reviewed the imported result.

Import the file

  1. Open Resumes.
  2. Select Import resume.
  3. Choose the matching import type.
  4. Select the file and start the import.
  5. Wait for QuickCV to create and open a new editable resume.

Use the LinkedIn ZIP as downloaded rather than extracting or renaming its internal files. Use a QuickCV backup or JSON Resume file only with the matching import option.

Review the imported resume

Check names, contact details, dates, section order, and rich text before exporting or sharing. Import converts source data into QuickCV sections; unusual layouts or unsupported source fields may need manual correction.

If validation rejects the file, confirm its type and try the unmodified source again. If extraction fails repeatedly, create a resume manually and contact QuickCV support with the file type and exact error. Do not include private resume data in a public report.
