Recover resume changes that are not saving
Protect your edits and recover safely when resume autosave reports an error.
The problem
The save indicator above the editor shows Saving…, switches to Save failed – Retry, or never confirms Saved.
Don't refresh the page, sign out, close the tab, or start an export while this is happening. QuickCV holds your latest edits in the browser until they reach the server, and any of those actions can discard changes that haven't saved yet.
Check for an obvious cause
- Confirm your device has an internet connection.
- Look for a validation message on the field or section you just changed — a rejected value can block saving until it's fixed.
- Give any pending AI action or preview update a few seconds to finish; QuickCV waits for those before it saves.
- Keep the editor tab open. QuickCV retries automatically in the background.
Saved with a time next to it means your last edit already reached QuickCV — a slow preview on its own doesn't mean the save failed.
Fix it
- Correct any field error you found above.
- If the indicator reads Save failed – Retry, select it — that's the retry action, and it re-sends the same save.
- Wait for the indicator to change to Saved before navigating away or starting an export.
- If retrying still doesn't work, copy your latest unsaved text somewhere private — a notes app, not a shared document — before refreshing the page, so nothing is lost if the refresh doesn't recover the session.
If the problem continues
Contact QuickCV support with the page URL, roughly when it started, which section was affected, and the exact error text. A clear description is usually enough — don't send passwords, private share links, or resume content beyond what's needed to explain the problem.
Once saving is working again, pick back up in Edit resume details and sections or continue to Export your resume.
