Your NREMT-Paramedic credential, state paramedic license, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, and any specialty certifications (CCEMTP, FP-C, CCP-C) should appear at the top of your resume. Flight and critical care transport programs also look for CFRN, TP-C, or specialty trauma credentials. These certifications are the primary filter before your experience is even reviewed.

Paramedic resumes should quantify specific ALS interventions: number of intubations performed, RSI protocols initiated, cardiac arrests worked, STEMI activations called, and medication administrations per shift. These numbers distinguish a high-volume paramedic with strong procedural currency from someone with limited field exposure—a critical distinction for competitive programs.

Paramedics who precept EMTs and paramedic students, serve as field training officers (FTOs), or lead quality improvement initiatives demonstrate the leadership trajectory that EMS agencies value. Even if you are not in a formal leadership title, note any training, protocol development, or QI project involvement to show you contribute beyond your patient care duties.
